The goal of Cusco Travel Services is to provide travellers, to and from the Cusco region of Peru, the best service possible for your needs in Accommodation, Passenger Transport and Tours such as the Inca Trail trek, Mountain Bike and Horseback Riding Excursions and Reservations for Train Tickets for the trains of Inca Rail and Machu Picchu Train operating between Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu and the trains of Peru Rail operating between Cusco (Poroy), Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu and between Cusco and Puno (Lake Titicaca).

If you let us know how many days you have to spend here, what things you definitely want to see and do and what your budget is in regards to accommodation, we can plan an itinerary to make the best use of your time. If you are travelling on to Santiago in Chile we have more economical alternatives available, via Puno and/or Arequipa, that don't require you to fly back to Lima.

My highest recommendation, as to the best time to visit this region, is to come in the months of February, March and April when the area is in its most beautiful state when the flora and agricultural crops are the most verdant, vibrant and colourful.

As the centre of the Incan Empire, this region has many archaeological attractions built with pride and purpose and harmony with the magnificent natural surroundings. The most famous of these archaeological attractions is without a doubt the mountain top citadel of Machu Picchu. Other sites of significant status are those at Choquequirao, Saqsaywaman, Pisac and Ollantaytambo and those on the Inca Trail which are Llaqtapata, Runkuraqay, Sayaqmarka, Phuyupatamarka, Intipata and Wiñawayna. Other lesser known sites but equally worth visiting are those of Q'enqo, Puka Pukara, Tambomachay, Tipon, Pikillaqta, Rachi, Pumamarca, Huchuy Cusco, Moray and Las Salineras.

For the Inca Trail, you need to be booking your tour 3 to 6 months in advance to ensure you get the dates you want. Whether you want to trek the Inca Trail or take a train to Machu Picchu, your itinerary should be planned around the dates you can acquire for these services.

Many of the sites and tourist attractions can be economically visited by using the Boleto Turistico (Tourist Ticket) which can be purchased up to 5 days in advance of the first day of use. This ticket also includes Moray.

For visiting the Inka site at Machu Picchu you will require Entrance Tickets. Bus Tickets are optional for the trip (20 to 25 minutes) between the town of Machu Picchu and the Inka Site but you would be best advised to purchase, at least, tickets for the outbound trip as it is mostly uphill and will use more of your valuable time.

If your time is limited, all the above tickets can be picked up on your behalf and delivered to your choice of accommodation at the same time as your bus tickets (Puno service), train tickets, tour and accommodation vouchers.
